After touring the 5,000-year-old Neolithic village, visit Orkney’s finest mansion, the 400-year-old Skaill House.

  • Board your motorcoach for an approximately 45-minute drive to Skara Brae, the most exciting and best-preserved Neolithic village in Northern Europe. The remains of this 5,000-year-old Neolithic village are beautifully preserved and interpreted in a modern visitor center. Along the way, pass Maeshowe Tomb, a circa 2800 B.C. ceremonial cairn.
  • Be guided on an approximately 45-minute tour of this Stone Age settlement that lies beside the sandy crescent of the Bay of Skaill. Note: This tour involves approximately one mile of walking on dirt and stone footpaths that are exposed to harsh weather. Wear comfortable shoes.
  • Continue to Skaill House, one of Orkney’s finest manors and a complete contrast to the hardship of life found in Skara Brae. A powerful bishop built Skaill House on an ancient graveyard in 1620.
